San Diego Zoo San Diego Zoo News 2018

That's pretty old for a siamang, if I'm not mistaken. Do you think this will effect how well she'll be able to raise this baby?
I watched for quite a while this morning and everything looks good. Talked to the keeper and she said the baby is nursing and they are doing great.

I have a question, probably a dumb one. What does "3.2" I'm assuming it means female to male or male to female ratio but I'm not sure. I'm still relatively new to this website and I've seen things like that a lot but I just haven't asked yet.

Three males and two females.

Three males and two females.
And if there's a third number that means "of unknown sex" - e.g. 3.2.6 would mean three males, two females, and six which are unsexed.

If there are no females (for example) the numbers would read 3.0.6.

They’ve been looking to acquire the species for quite some time. They are the second US holder.

Who is the other?

Excellent addition, they're a fantastic species. Personally I like them better than Crested Coua and I hope they zoo does well with them. Fingers crossed someone gets Giant from Walsrode at some point too!

It would be nice to see a few different coua species established in North America. Agree with Thylo I'd love to see some Giant Coua come over!

Are the Blues on exhibit, and if so where?

SDZ now have blue coua. Anyone know anything about this?

Hi, I’m new to the forum, but I saw a pair of Blue Coua on exhibit at the Zoo today and came across this thread as I was researching to try to learn more about them, so I thought I would share! There is a breeding pair now on exhibit in an aviary between Scripps Aviary and the Bonobo exhibit. I was told that one male is also now on exhibit in the AGA Aviaries. I’m looking forward to getting to know this species!
