Animals You Want To See

I'm gonna do just mammals, because it's too hard when you add in the other classes:

1. Fossa
2. Wolverine
3. Boto
4. Yellow-throated (or Nilgiri marten)
5. Javan rhinoceros
6. Tayra
7. Pangolin (any species)
8. Leopard seal
9. Indri
10. Malabar civet (it's probably extinct :()

Well... While brazilian zoos may be a great place to see some rare native species (numerous small carnivores, brockets, jabirus, multiple Bothrops species [golden lancehead included], endangered frogs and even some special cases such as blonde capuchins and brazilian mergansers are some that come to my mind now), it lacks even some basic exotic (or even native) species. Actually, there are quite a few zoos in Brazil (relevant ones, at least). From what I know, none of these whose I'd like to see are kept in zoos here:

. Hyenas (any species)
. Red panda
. Any bear species endemic to Asia
. Clouded leopard
. Babirusa (any species) / Red river hog
. Okapi
. Pygmy hippo
. Tree-kangaroos (any species)
. Komodo dragon
. Chameleon (any species; some few people keep them as pets here, though mostly illegally)

I'm sticking to basics, though. I mean, there are a lot of species that it would be worth more to see, but it would be really complicated for me to process which ones would be my all-time favorites with so many left!

Brazil lacks all those animals! I'm surprised. Most of those are common in NA and Europe!

I want to see

Serval- have seen but need a picture of
Dhole- never saw one
Sea Otter- never saw one
Killer Whale- have seen but need a picture of
California Condor- never saw one
White-headed Capuchin- never saw one
Coyote- never saw one before
Spotted Hyena- never saw one
Gerenuk- never saw one
Sitatunga- have seen but need a picture of
Chimpanzee- never saw one
Tasmanian Devil- never saw one though they will be at the Columbus Zoo in time
Great White Shark- never saw one

I would like to see the 10 smallest antelopes of Africa in the same zoo. That would probably include Royal Antelope, Dwarf Antelope, Suni, several species of Duikers and Dikdiks etc.

I know there is a rule that you're not suppose to add to older threads so I apologize if this thread is considered "to old" to add to (but I'm assuming it's okay, after all it's only been 3 months).

Since I can only chose ten...
  1. Any large cetacean (bigger than a killer whale, which I've seen)
  2. Platypus
  3. Aye-aye
  4. Tree kangaroo
  5. Elephant seal
  6. Adult great white shark (I've already seen a juvenile at the Monterey Bay Aquarium)
  7. Javan or Sumatran rhinoceros
  8. Kiwi
  9. Lammergeier
  10. Goblin Shark (this one is extremely unlikely but a guy can hope)
Honorable mention - bush dog and raccoon dog

I think it is supposed to be "want to see in a zoo", so Humpback would be unlikely. However, I have seen three of your animals. Of the others I would most want to see a Narwhal.

There is not.

A narwhal is as unlikely to be seen in a zoo as a humpback whale... Anyway is not stated in the thread that they must be captive animals. And then a humpback is relatively easy to see (if you're enough rich to travel to the feeding areas)

I've seen 5 of them!(Including honorable mention)

Yes. Yes, there is. In the forum rules, it says not to bump threads unless you something of value to add. In this case, I guess it is an exception, as it is adding some value (it relates to the thread.

Ah, of course! Adding things without value (at least the value of being related to the thread) would be better to not be added even in newer threads...

Anyway I would not considere this as an old thread - last replies was just from two months ago only! Maybe threads longer than a year old are better to not be resurrected, but I found zillion times much more desirable to resurrect them than create new ones with identical purposes ;)
