Chester Zoo Fire in the Chester Zoo Monsoon Forest habitat

There is - and it doesn't require criticising other establishments (not sure what your issue with Monkey World is?).

Visit them when you can, tell everyone you know about the place, promote them on Twitter and Facebook, leave them good reviews, add to their fundraisers, adopt an animal, donate items they need, do a keeper experience, buy something from the shop etc etc.

The Wales Ape & Monkey Sanctuary have loads of options for how you can support them here if you want to:

Zia already supporting the Welsh Ape Sanctuary and have booked an experience day there too.

Monkey World I don't wish to go into, but lets just say they are a selective if it suits Sanctuary :)

I believe it is all currently closed. Presumably they will open parts as it becomes practical to do so, but during works on Monsoon Forest there may be issues regarding safe access for construction vehicles etc.

Why not e-mail the zoo to ask?

I have no idea what that is supposed to mean.

I think it refers to the fact that they don't take all animals offered and/or impose requirements in accepting some animals. Arguably not unreasonable but some people construe it as differing from the remit they project for publicity purposes. Obviously those whose animals Monkey World don't take will have axes to grind. Personally, I don't have enough (unbiased) information to conclude an opinion.

Close Shorts and on the right lines anyway. I know of two rescues they snubbed because they wanted huge cash amounts to take them.
That is not a sanctuary in my book !

As you say @Shorts - that doesn't seem unreasonable on the face of it. You'd need to know the reasoning from all party's to form an opinion... and where the animals were coming from.

I don't know all that much about Monkey World aside from their collection so I do not dislike them persay, but I also have an issue or two with them. Would still visit if I had the chance, though, to be honest.

I'm not understanding your issue, however. Sanctuary or not they can't just take in every pet capuchin that gets dropped on their doorstep. The sad truth is no one can save everything, they will have limited space and resources (as you'll know having gone off about that when it comes to other sanctuaries) and have to be somewhat selective in order to survive. If someone was trying to dump their unwanted animals onto them I completely understand the center wanting some funding to care for the animals. While you may have only heard the stories about Monkey World, I have little doubt that the same can be said for most sanctuaries (and zoos).
