I know we still cannot go to the national zoo due to the government shutdown, but I have a question. I saw this person's picture at the zoo of a Speke's gazelle and dama gazelle on opposite sides of a fence. Does the national zoo have Speke's gazelles, because if they do, this shutdown better end soon because I want to see one.

I think that's an old photo. The zoo had one Speke's Gazelle from 1996 to 2010, when it was euthanised due to age-related health issues.

Let's just hope and pray she'll have cubs. It's been over a year since any Amur tiger cubs were born in an AZA zoo, if I'm not mistaken.

Aren't the zoos other tigers Sumatran? Or have they been completely replaced by Amur now?

Is she no longer recommended for breeding because she rejected her last cub?

I am unsure of the reason behind it. It may also be because she had two litters (one being the rejected cub) and her genes are well represented.
