Men, I really need to get a new PC to play this game :(:(:(
The gameplay was awesome. And they are revealing new animals every week.
This game is going to be epic!!
They included them in Zoo Tycoon 2 in the Endangered Species DLC so fingers crossed...
Zoo Tycoon 2 included some species that are not found on zoos, like the Javan rhino and the mountain gorilla. I love that Planet Zoo is aiming for a more realistic game, but I hope that they left a little bit space for imagination :D Fingers crossed!

This game keeps getting better! Going to have to find a way to play it!

Curious, do you guys think a following will start creating animals for the game like Zoo Tycoon, or too complicated a game to readily do that?

Malayan hopefully...

I think it'll be either Malayan or Baird's. Malayan would be my guess because of the unique colors, but they might go for Baird's if they want to get more Central/South American species in the game like was the case with ZT2:ES? I think Brazilian is less likely as Baird's would be a better choice of Latin American species given its higher endangerment level.

Sorry if I'm late, but how did bestinsloth play the game? Did he have access to an exclusive beta or something?

There are also both Galapagos and Aldabran giant tortoises in the base game - that really is overkill in my mind. I would much rather there were more unique animals at first, with any similar species released in DLC.
Frontier seems to have a thing for “clones” but that might be because it’s going to be easier to make more similar species and less time-consuming on animations

To be honest I’m fine with similar species and subspecies as long they’re different like with African and Asian elephants which I don’t think it’s an overkill,I still feel like we are going to have some more unique animals since we’re only halfway into the roster

That is absolutely understandable, given the fact that most of the ZT2 fan-made content was made like this I presume...

Well, as long as we won't have nine different agoutis (excluding fan-made downloads)...:D We certainly have more uniques species coming, so far I am surprised by the lack of bird species being presented, even though zoo games never really were about bird species (for understandable reasons) as much as about mammals/herps...I mean at least some penguin species is more or less a must-have isn't it? For the small exhibits, some small passerines/quails would be nice but I'm like 90% sure that they won't go that way...

There is/was game convention in Cologne, Germany so some people had the opportunity to play it.

I'm thinking it'll be Malayan, because based on the lack of South American species in the game so far, there's probably going to be a South American animals DLC.

For all its faults, the newest Zoo Tycoon did have a few more diverse interesting species (especially on the Steam version) such as koalas, flamingos, anteaters and platypus which would all be very welcome in my opinion but all the sub-species were a little bit pointless especially something like an agouti which really only needed one species in game if at all.

If they are going to add some birds into Planet Zoo, would they need to add some sort of netting over the top of enclosures because what we've seen so far with other species that could climb out or escape like the lemurs (which I hope we get more of) is that they just have high walls instead of netting which obviously wouldn't work for birds.

What sort of birds would be the most likely contenders for the game (aside from flamingos and penguins) and what species would you most like to see? Personally, I'd like some birds of prey like Harris Hawks and Harpy Eagles or maybe Cassowaries and Kiwis.

Ostrich, flamingo, penguin and peafowl I would say are the only birds I truly expect. The bird that I would want most, because they are often kept in open-topped displays and are pretty ubiquitous in zoos, is one of the species of pelican.

Well hopefully we get that in some sort of DLC as aviaries are pretty much essential part of the zoos worldwide...On the lemur case, I would be very cautious with adding more of them, Ring-tailed are confirmed, ok maybe add one more (bamboo lemur would be great) but then let the fans do the rest if they want to, 2 official lemur species seems enough to me for the sake of diversity...(Maybe add Mouse lemur as the animal for that small exhibits)

The base game without aviaries? Penguin as the undisputed #1, Flamingos, Cranes, basically the bigger species are all viable

If we start to speculate about possible DLC's, that would be a long discussion about what I would like to see...
