Hey everyone, after some internet searching and recommendations on a thread I posted a bit ago, I’ve decided to make a poll of what zoos to visit first. The list of the zoos I’m putting on the list are zoos which I’ve heard of, read great reviews about, have come up on various “Best Of” lists, or recommended to visit by fellow Zoochatters. Just a brief summary of my previous post: me and my girlfriend want to visit 10 to 20 new zoos zoos here in the United States over the next 2 years. The main reason why in the states is due to my girlfriend’s income and my own income which isn’t huge but traveling within the country seems cheaper than international. I will be visiting the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park for my birthday in a couple months. If anyone can please vote for which of the zoos I’ll be posting on the poll would be of huge help and much appreciated! I’m pretty sure the poll may not have some zoos that I may completely miss that many would consider must visits but if anyone posts a comment which also gets recommended by others as well, I’ll make another poll. Thank you everybody! :)

I'm guessing that you are going to fly to these locations over different weeks or months.
In this case I would pick the farthest location with a bit more planning. For instance
fly to DC take a train to NY see the Bronx zoo and go back and see the national zoo then fly home. Similarly visit Columbus and Cinn on one trip. If you are going to Ft Worth, then Dallas and maybe the World Aquarium etc.

Oh wow that’s a great idea, I didn’t think of that! And yes I would indeed be doing the trips roughly 1 new zoo a month, a stay ranging from 2 to 3 days to visit the zoo and try to experience all I can. Dallas Zoo is one I also am considering for the next poll after this one but if I end up going to Forth Worth, I’d might as well extend my stay so I can do Dallas too. Thank you very much :)

Oh, hope it goes well!
I am too, but in Easter next year
Thank you very much, I hope you enjoy your visit as well! Me and my gf are beyond excited to visit :) Btw an extra thank you for asking about SDZ, I highlighted in my post so others can also see since it’s hard at times to read the font especially since it’s all the same haha Good luck on your trip :)

Thank you!

Are you going to be there before the pandas leave?

Oh I hate to break it to you but the pandas left for China already, I believe they left April or May of this year :( I’m so sorry if you were expecting to see them but they left unfortunately, hopefully the SDZ will renegotiate with the government of China to get a new lease for more pandas.

Ah, no it is fine, I was fairly sure they would be gone by the time I went, but hopefully they either get some more or they manage to make the area into something equally exciting!

Agreed! I would love for them to make the panda trek area into another world class habitat :)
