I didn't see that news in the thread, so I wrote ;) As I've heard (I must see myself also) a female Geoffroy's cat replaced Caracal.
It's an interesting update for me. Geoffroy's cat isn't very popular. Lately two zoos which I know replaced it with something else (Warsaw zoo with an North American porcupine; Jihlava with Palawan leopard cats) and it makes me think what is the future of this LC-species in European zoos...
 
It reminds me of situation of some species of geckos in Europe - rarely kept in zoos, often seen in markets. ;) Last time I saw a few species like Phelsuma dorsivittata (in European zoos only in Munster) or Lygodactylus kimhowelli (2 facilities).

New confirmed species on today's press conference:

• New Guinea Bronzewing (Henicophaps albifrons)
• Salvadori's Fig-parrot (Psittaculirostris salvadorii)
• Festive Parrot (Amazona festiva)

Also, director quoted British ornithologist Rosemary Low, who described the Parrot house as "The most realistic and pleasing she ever saw."

Full cost of the house was almost 1,2 million €.
 
Zoo posted today a sneak peek video too, where director, architect, bird curator, and botanist talk about the parrot house. Unfortunately, it's without subtitles, but at least, you can have a first look at some exhibits, a bit of off-show stuff (from the house itself and from the other bird off-show area that is located behind sea lion's enclosure) also some new species are revealed there.

Species revealed:

12:12 - some species of cardinal or something like that. I know it, but can't figure the name for heaven's sake :D Maybe Red-crested cardinal (Paroaria coronata)?
12:32 - Papuan lorikeet (Charmosyna papou) or another Charmosyna species
14:14 - Blue-naped parrot (Tanygnathus lucionensis)? Recognized thanks to yesterday's discussion with @ShonenJake13 and @TeaLovingDave
15:57 - Some passerine species, too blurred to tell. :rolleyes:

Bird curator in his commentary talks about - Wattled Jacana (Jacana jacana), Sunbittern (Eurypyga helias), unspecified Tinamou species and unspecified Oropendola species.

1:33 - Scarlet-headed blackbird (Amblyramphus holosericeus) on the signage
6:02 - Tataupa tinamou (Crypturellus tataupa)
14:13 - Unidentified conure (Psittacara spec., possibly P.frontatus and/or P.wagleri?)

This is looking to be quite the house! Some very exciting species in that list...

So that confirms the Tinamou species and I'm scratching the Oropendola out. Czech name "vlhovec" mentioned by bird curator is actually used for most of the Icterids, but I went with oropendolas as they seemed most probable to me.

I think all these animals were already exhibited, according to ZTL, so is this a renovation or what?

I know for a fact that at least the Lear's have never been on-show so you might want to think again. They have been at the zoo for several years, just behind the scenes. ;)

Some were, many weren't. ZTL lists all animals known to be kept at the zoo (or at least tries to), not only species on-exhibit.
