Paignton Zoo Paignton Mammal List

Allen's swamp monkey: Not only is there no sign of Swoozie, but there is no sign on her empty and closed house. I fear the end of an era :(

Monkey, Allen's swamp 0.0

I wonder if she has died or has been sent to a European collection that have Swamp monkeys. Either way, end of an era definately it sounds like.:( I doubt Paignton will ever exhibit them again, and very unlikely any other UK zoo will either. A failing species in zoos it seems.

I'd say that looks about right from an "on show standpoint" ;):D

What is the situation with Maned Wolves? They had the parents and three offspring. And someone mentioned they are some in the cheetah off show area?

Also Lions - has one of the males left?

I've only listed those that are on show as I'm not in a position to know what's going on behind the scenes. When TB struck, the maned wolves were separated by sex with mother and two daughters in the main enclosure and father and son in the neighbouring one (where you could only get glimpses of them). Recently I've only seen two in the main enclosure - I don't know who they are or who's behind the cheetahs.
