Bede's Zoo , Zoo Grapevine / IZN article

The three largest enclosures are really very good. The largest houses Ring Tailed Lemurs and I believe a second species of Lemur will be joining them.

On the other side of the primate house the Squirrel Monkey’s and Agouti’s share an enclosure.

The third large enclosure is a mixed exhibit for African birds.

That really does have something to do with the topic.

I have built bigger enclosures for parrots than the lemurs have got in a domestic home, it is an animal collection much like the cat survival trust impersonating a sanctuary . I am not anti zoo I have worked in zoo's all over the world for 30 year's, I agree children need to be involved with animals. It makes them better human beings but stick to smaller species jerboas and tenrecs. Yes lemurs are carasmatic and grab attention, but think more like Durrel and think from the ground up. Then this place could really teach children that everything matters.

Have you been to this zoo? Just asking, as you seem pretty certain in your judgement of the lemur enclosure.

You might well have build some massive parrot enclosures then - but reading the second part of your response I would suggest that you are incorrect in your assumptions (unless you have visited the collection?) This collection has primate enclosures that are larger than those in some good zoos! It is certainly not “impersonating a sanctuary”, it is a private zoo. No mention of the word sanctuary in any of their literature.

There are small mammals kept in the mammal room of the Animal Management Unit of the types you suggest as suitable, but the outside enclosures are certainly fit for purpose and exceed EAZA guidelines for the species kept!

Another new species: 1.1 Brazilian Guinea Pigs (Cavia aperea), from Exmoor Zoo. They’re currently living with the Squirrel Monkeys.
They seem to be sending individuals everywhere at the moment - a nice addition
