The zoo has confirmed that the porcupine is a young female from Perth Zoo. She will be displayed with the meerkats.

Darling Downs Zoo has welcomed its 14th baboon baby (I completely underestimated the size and breeding success of this baboon troop)!

It’s great to see a decent sized breeding troop within the region. Aside from Melbourne Zoo, a lot of the holders seem to have small troops - Auckland, Adelaide and Perth Zoo.
Darling Downs Zoo has welcomed another Addax calf. According to the Facebook post they have bred four calves from their four breeding females this year alone, and their herd currently stands at 10 individuals.
The Facebook post also mentions that the zoo plans to import a new bloodline of Addax from the USA when amendments in our current legislation occur.

In the midst of the severe drought the zoo is experiencing, it’s heartening to see that Darling Downs Zoo are welcoming new births.
They have new arrivals from their groups of Blackbuck, Hamadryas Baboon and Llama.

Darling Downs Zoo is experiencing a baby boom. Highlights mentioned and seen in the video include an Echidna puggle (didn't even know they had echidna!), Emperor Tamarin, Brazilian Agouti, Serval, American Alligator and a Common Wombat.

Building update for the Sri Lankan leopard enclosures (posted on their Facebook page). Apparently they will also receive new arrivals early in the new year.
The Sri Lankan Leopards in Australia are part of the EEP for the species!
