Btw, what is going to happen to the original manatee tank?
That's good to hear about the manateesBeauval has received multiple new Manatee males recently and they already have quite a group, so it seems to me that they will house two separate groups, one bachelor and one breeding.
The zoo has posted quite a number of pictures and extra info on their website with regards to the dome:
Nouveauté 2020 : dôme équatorial | ZooParc de Beauval
It looks very much like a more crowded Gondwanaland, but that was maybe to be expected, it still looks very interesting though.
None here too?The dome will also have Bornean forest dragons, a species not found anywhere else in France or even Europe.
where from? The dome will also have Bornean forest dragons, a species not found anywhere else in France or even Europe.
where from?
i assume Red-shanked?Bornean earless monitors will come from Praha where breeding already occured as well as in Moscow or Vienna (first European breeding success in 2016).
I heard douc langurs will come from Dusit Zoo.
Dusit only held red- shankeds! Most are now at Khao Kheow.i assume Red-shanked?
Manatee (male) has been born in the soon to equatorial dome, according to FB. So a new highlight to look forward too for when it will open next month.
Yep, I've been following it since it started. Really interesting! If you're not keeping up with the Carnet du Bord videos on the zoo's YouTube page, I would recommend them. They're quite short, but you they offer a fun behind the scenes look!
