This is very saddening news!
"Dallas Zoo will furlough staff, close Fair Park aquarium as coronavirus cuts into its revenue.
The zoo remains open but also plans to permanently shut down its recently renovated monorail."

Oh dear! Aren't most of the African species only visible by the monorail?
Not another abandoned exhibit, Dallas has enough of those right now and a fourth would just be terrible. I agree with you the come a few years, the area will become a walking path, but who knows how long that will be. The animals on the monorail will probably stay at the zoo, but stay of exhibit, as there collection is to large to transfer all at once. One of the three remaining zoo monorails in the USA is closing? This is awful. I truly enjoyed the Dallas monorail. However it could be a plus for ZooChatters if they make the track a walking path, since there was no way to linger at those exhibits before.
