Thank you so much. I can see now I can search it by name how it matches the juvenile/female colouring. That's an Australian King Parrot.
For those that may be interested, I have finally updated my Flickr album for Jurong. If anyone notices any misidentified birds, please let me know — either here or on Flickr.
I just had a look at these. The ones which jumped out at me: the "Zebra Dove" is a Spotted Dove (Spot-necked Dove); the "Nankeen Night Heron" is a Black-crowned Night Heron; and the pelicans are a bit messed up (the last "White Pelican" is something else - I think a Spot-billed? - and I'm not sure what the brown one is - I haven't seen a juvenile that before). For those that may be interested, I have finally updated my Flickr album for Jurong. Sigh, yes indeed. I don't know where I got the idea they were rainbow. I have corrected these. The birds signed as Rainbow lorikeets are actually Coconut lorikeets, I think![]()
OK, I can at least claim I was fooled on that one, but I see the difference now in the yellow area by the bill. Also corrected. And the last 'Hyacinth macaw' photo is actually a Lear's macaw, a species many times rarer in captivity than its lookalike counterpart!
Thanks! I absolutely loved my visit and was so pleased to get so many good photos.Great photos btw![]()
I recall confusing myself with the doves. Obviously I never resolved that. Now corrected.I just had a look at these. Thanks! I have corrected them now.The 'African green pigeon' looks more like a Pink-necked green pigeon.
The pelicans on a log are 2 Australian pelicans and a juvenile Great white pelican. The swimming pelican is a Spot-billed pelican.
