Floods

With many Nature Reserves closing today 16/02/2020 due to floods I was wondering if any collections have had to close or are very close to closing due to floods and heavy rain?

Wild zoological park now closed for the day and with more heavy rain due today and tomorrow it's not looking good for tomorrow either.

Do the know if it's been closed but my coach trip to Chester zoo has been cancelled.

Not sure nothing on face book or twitter but we cancelled our coach for yesterday and I have looked at a couple of coach firms running trips to Chester over the next week and they have ALL been cancelled maybe it's because they didn't have enough people on the coach as most won't travel with less than 15 people on them.

The issue may be to do with getting to Chester. A major incident was declared in Shropshire yesterday due to flooding with a number of major routes through the county (M54, A5, A49, A41, A53) closed or partially blocked by flood water. With rain forecast for much of this week, and ground that is completely waterlogged, I don't see the situation improving that quickly.

The trips cancelled are for wed 19th thurs 20th and sat 22nd have asked and was told that they didn't have enough on any of the trips to make them viable for the company to run them.

I have just seen from the BBC website that Drayton Manor is closed because of flooding. There is no mention of specific problems for the zoo on the Drayton Manor website or Facebook page, so I hope this means that there are no particular problems there, but other parts of the park are affected. Reopening is planned for 29th February.
