Zoo Mulhouse Mulhouse Zoo

Regarding the new exhibit an important information is that the female tapir will come from Singapore. Other information is that the reindeers are leaving the zoo. Instead of the reindeers, the zoo will put the addax already kept in another enclosure. Their past enclosure will be use to rehouse the Prince-Alfred deers. The target is to better accomodate the addax and deers.

After a birth in 2019 the zoo has the pleasure to welcome a new crowned sifaka called Toki.
The young male borned january 22nd is already visible with Jao, his brother, and Poppy and Manao, his parents, in the outdoor enclosure.

Nice and important birth for the small European population but a pitty its a male ( a female would have been even nicer ! )
And a great Thank You to @Antoine for providing us with so much and so intresting news from the french zoos !

You're welcome vogelcommando !
As I am happy to see and learn about foreign zoos I suppose it's the same for other Zoochatters with french zoos.
So I will try to give infos as long as I can (and I am thinking about the gallery too !).

Nanuq, three years old female polar bear borned at the park, will go to Zoo de la Flèche in the next few months. She will join Taïko, the male polar bear in place, alone since the death in 2018 of the previous female, Katinka.

Due to important new relationship problems with her mother, Nanuq is transferred temporaly to Cerza where she will await the construction of her new enclosure in La Fleche. The building works in La Flèche has been postponed regading the crisis. We don't know when they will start again.

Cerza is now home to three females polar bears.

Do the clouded leopards have been named?

An information I missed : a pair of Edward's pheasant will go to Vietnam in a few months for a reintroduction program.

Nice, I think Zoo de Mulhouse has been heavily involved with Vietnam pheasant program for long time (WPA?)!?

Unfortunately I don't know more about this but they breed them for twenty years and are always involved in a lot of good conservation programs so...

Yes, one of the earliest leading lights in the French (ex situ) conservation community in zoos!

The Zoo will re-open on June 3rd. The new malayan tapirs and sulawesi crested macaques will open mid june. The male tapir is coming from Germany and the macaques pair from Poland. The arrival of the female tapir from Singapore is delayed due to covid-19 crisis. And the Zoo will receive a new sichuan takin male from Berlin (it seems that one of the two arrived last year died).

Visited the zoo yesterday.
I wasn't expecting much but it is an amazing zoo, I had a really great time and what they managed to do with their most recent exhibits it really wonderful.

The baby L'Hoest's monkey is going strong, as are the clouded leopards and the baby sifaka.

If anyone is interested in a review, then I'll write one.
