This poll is an idea I've thought of to decide amongst zoo chatters what they believe to be the best new species/exhibits in Oceania zoos. I will run this competition every month with the possibility of an end of year contest for all the monthly winners. I will create a similar thread for births as well. In addition I am hoping to run the competition for the UK, North America and Europe excluding the UK too.

In terms of the rationale behind your votes just pick whichever piece of news excited/interested/impressed you the most. If there are any glaring omissions please let me know.

For the sake of accuracy, Currumbin has exhibited Brown Cuckoo Doves in other aviaries around the park for many years.

I voted for Darling Downs Zoo’s Maned Wolves. A great acquisition for the zoo especially being a potential breeding pair.

Werribee should be Nyala which is a new species rather than Waterbuck which they've always had but often had off display

Yes I included the Waterbuck as they were equivalent to the zoo holding a new species for the general public. I had been unaware Nyala had gone on display during January and would have included them if I'd known.

Thanks. I'm not sure if it is possible to edit polls.

Werribee have had Nyala for a while. They were put on display around March/April last year. I saw them personally.
