US zoos closed due to COVID-19 and duration

The following updates have been made to the sheet:
  • Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is closed through 03/31 (stated closure until the end of the month)
  • Tracy Aviary is closed until further notice
  • Dallas World Aquarium is closed until further notice
  • Oregon Zoo is closed through 04/08
  • Lion County Safari is only allowing drive-through tours until further notice
  • Trevor Zoo is closed until further notice
  • Indianapolis Zoo is closed until further notice
  • Naples Zoo is closed through 03/31
  • Lincoln Park Zoo (Manitowoc) is closed through 04/06
  • Wildwood Park & Zoo is closed until further notice
  • Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary has cancelled most events through the end of March
If something was not included it was already documented on the sheet.

My local Reid Park Zoo remains open (in spite of my other local zoo closing). What I find really surprising is that Reid Park is still holding its nightly Asian Lantern Festival. I thought for sure they would cancel that. However they did state they are cancelling the stage performances that were part of the festival.

I agree that some of the dates are overly optimistic and I imagine several zoos will be pushing their reopening dates back to maybe mid-April.

Speaking of, a few more updates to the sheet:
  • Rosamond Gifford Zoo is closed until further notice
  • Long Island Aquarium is closed until further notice
  • Ross Park Zoo is closed until further notice

Sequoia Park Zoo and Safari West are both now closed until further notice.

Turtle Bay Exploration Park is now closed til March 31

This leaves only Micke Grove Zoo and California Living Museum in California that *may* still be open.

Abilene is now closed until May 1

Gladys Porter is now closed until further notice

Topeka has closed all indoor buildings

Central Florida is closed til further notice

Palm Beach is closed, planning to reopen soon as allowed

Phoenix is closing tomorrow until further notice

Pueblo is closed until further notice

Sylvan Heights Bird Park is closed until further notice

Erie is now closed until further notice

Well, down to the few... only a handful of the larger facilities remain open. As of 4:30 PST, these are still open, mostly with modifications. * indicates possibly closed but cannot confirm.

Micke Grove Zoo* - CA
California Living Museum* - CA
Wildlife Safari - OR
Reid Park Zoo - AZ
OdySea - AZ
Zoo Montana - MT
Topeka - KS
St. Augustine Alligator Farm* - FL

I think there's probably a few others (mostly the very small and/or privately owned) but at this point nearly all facilities have closed. :(

You know, I think they’ve probably got more pressing concerns than being cold-called by people who aren’t, in fact, intending to visit anyway.

At the moment, Brookfield, Detroit and Indianapolis are all still open, just with indoor exhibits closed.
Detroit and Indianapolis are closed.

Apologies, I didn't see an update for those two. I think this means Brookfield is the last major zoo to stay open during this.

I believe you are right as far as standard zoos. Wildlife Safari and Fossil Rim are still operating but they're drive throughs primarily.
