The polar bears are at least a 0.2 pair from Aalborg, according to the Aalborg zoo fans Facebook page. Apparently they left yesterday.

I don't think PDZ will open on April 6th given the evolution of the situation in Europe, it may be postponed.
There is 2 Spix macaws left at the zoo, we don't have any informations about new arrivals. Given the fact that they build a breeding center, they may get new macaws (from ACTP ?).

They had 4 Spix, so 3 leaving must be a wrong report. I also presume more from the ACPT will arrive for the new centre. I too doubt they will open on 6th April.
Two male scimitar horned gazelles where brought from Stuttgart wheren they were born in 2019.

It looks nice. Is this one of two exhibits? It says sisters but Pairi should be receiving boys from Aalborg I think. Hopefully we'll see some grass in time.
This looks really great; that extremely clear water will for some great underwater viewing!
As someone who isn’t that familiar with the collection, what is the building on the left used for?

What we can see on the wide angle picture from my post yesterday is the left part of the left exhibit on the map attached.
For the time being they only have the two sisters - however in the newspapers reporting about the two polar bears arriving and also the comments on FB it was indicated that they should get at least one more (male) polar bear soon.

I don't know where you find this map Joggy but thank you for sharing ! Maybe a panorama will makes us able to see walrus with the polar bears behind them ?

The map has been made public in cause of the public hearing for the new parking area and you will find it for download on the website in the 'News'-section under the picture for the new parking announcement (September 1st 2019).
Does anyone reckon they’ll go the whole hog and go for all eight bear species at some point? I know they have plans of a South American area so spectacled certainly aren’t out of the question. Could see them getting some bachelor sloth bears, and possibly female sun bears to start with before transitioning into a breeding pair.

I don't they they will. They are on a good roll but the sunbears would require a new enclosure and the area that fits their living habitat does not have any space left. Unless they would get rid of something else.
Myself and @MagpieGoose were discussing this: certainly there are four areas at the moment they could make room; the area with all the Asian themed benches/picnic tables between the Komodo dragons and the orangutans, the old elephant bathing area, the area between the Javan leopard and the orangutan temple, or possibly one of the enclosures on the front of the Temple of Ani...lots of space as far as Pairi is concerned
I could also see them giving the enclosure for the older panda offspring opposite the Asiatic black bears to sloth or sun bears...
