Just been watching the first episode of primates on the beeb and got me thinking what is the largest breeding group of primates you have seen in any UK Zoo ?

Back when Edinburgh was holding the Guinea Baboon group from Paris whilst the latter collection was undergoing redevelopment, they bred the group so prodigiously that (from a starting number of about 15 animals) at its height they held over 70 animals :p so that would probably be the winner outside of big, free-roaming groups such as those at Knowsley and Trentham.

The end result of this is that once it came time for the baboons to return to Paris, there were too many of them and significant numbers ended up at YWP and Port Lympne too.
