Jersey is not part of the UK

Quite - some posters though, were being very particular about the constitutional status....
I guess that comment refers to me.

I brought up Jersey's constitutional status to explain why Jersey Zoo was operating under different rules to zoos located in the UK and I believe that was pertinent to the discussion at hand. That people were ignorant of Jersey's status does not surprise me, I am sure Jersey Constitutional Law is not a subject in British schools. I only know because I have an interest in such oddities.

If we were running a list on politics or constitutional law, of course Jersey should be in it's own category. However this is a zoo list, and the important thing is that people can quickly find threads for zoos they are interested in. I think almost all people would try to find Jersey Zoo under the United Kingdom. For that reason I think it would be best to leave it where it is.

I did say posters, and not poster..
Where one persons 'near enough is good enough' stops - and another persons objection to 'offensive' lack of detail - will always be up for debate...

I make the decisions about groupings and MRJ is completely correct - this was done for purely functional purposes and not based on political or legal grounds.
