A question about Birmingham. Why is it became an echo chamber here about "only" four bulls when most Zoos choose to exhibit 1 or zero and if they have multiples certainly not together? It is actually three now since Tamani was transferred to Kansas City.

Simple: It doesn't
Activists target the zoo for their most famous elephant, Happy, because she lives alone because they think they understand elephants and their complicate social behaviors better than the zoo and don't understand that she's not alone for no reason.
As pointed out to you before, the zoo's elephant habitat--while far from perfect--is not awful.

Its pretty good.....I don't know what you're talking about....if you want to see a bad exhibit.
Look at Louisville's current exhibit, or Cincinnati's current exhibit. That'll put things into perspective
Considering it was built in 1977, the exhibit is still pretty good. When it opened it was probably one of the best exhibits for elephant in the nation, but now I will admit its size could be larger. The features of the habitat itself are great though, a massive pool, hilly terrain, abundant shade, and access to some plants. Plus the elephants get privacy for the majority of the day and the colder months of the year. Now this is an area where the habitat lacks from a guest perspective, only seeing them for 45 seconds. The other issue I have with the habitat is the barn. Its the real letdown of the exhibit as its far smaller than it really should be, basically just a few small stalls in a row. Far smaller than most other zoos.
The zoo has stated that once Happy dies they will stop displaying elephants.
Well, they seems to have gone back and forth on that. That decision was made by former management and personally I'd be surprised if the zoo didn't become a holding/retirement facility for Asian Elephants.

We will see what happens but given the barn I doubt they will bring in new elephants, without at least a renovation and expansion. I would hate to see the Bronx Zoo without elephants but the Indian rhinos could enjoy the expanded space.
So instead of adding new elephants they're gonna expand their current Indian rhino exhibit in Wild Asia Monorail?
As stated before, its either new elephants or rhino expansion.
Was the Zoo Center bad at this before the elephants were told to stay permanently in Wild Asia Monorail?
Do you think the current Indian rhino exhibit should get more rhinos for breeding purposes recommended by the Species Survival Plan once the exhibit is expanded or add more natural substances and enrichment?

They have been breeding them since Wild Asia opened. I don’t remember any calfs in the last few years, but they normally keep at least 4 or 5 indian rhinos on site at any one time. They have a series of off exhibit yard as well as the one on exhibit yard. The exhibits are all natural substrate already, its just fairly compacted soil after 43 years of use.
Well rhino expansion I don't think has ever been stated by the zoo. Personally, if the zoo does choose to phase-out elephants entirely, I wouldn't mind seeing tapir be given a new outdoor enclosures, especially one with a pool as nice as the elephant one. This is pretty much all speculation and dreaming, however.
The zoo currently has around 6 Indian Rhinos already, with multiple off-show yards as @nczoofan stated. The on-show enclosure is plenty large and natural as it is, and the large wallow is rhino-made, having been used and expanded by them for over 40 years.
