Wild Place reports the death of male Chapman's Zebra 'Zak' at 21 years old, after a prolonged health condition. This leaves them two Zebras(1.1)

One of the oldest zebras in captivity in Europe apparently.

any news of any new exhibits?? Anything planned for the old wolf enclosure yet?

But not really old...Whipsnade had a male Chapman's that was over 35 years old when it died- it was Marwell's original breeding male and pensioned off to Whipsnade but looking at him you would never have guessed his age.

Wild Place reopening Friday 19th June, online tickets and member booking in advance like most others

I had a fantastic day at Wild Place today. I felt they had organised it all with such professionalism & care & clearly a lot of thought. Though all the ticket slots sold out within an hour, it never felt busy & I think they got the numbers just right. It was my first time seeing Bear Wood & I’m hugely impressed. Seeing the bears interacting with wolves in such a huge enclosure was such a joy. I have a real fondness for this zoo and the new paths & plant borders and educational signage has been done with real class. I tried to ask a number of staff what would be transferring to the old wolf enclosure but it appears they are letting the enclosure re-wild before making a decision. The baby Aloatran Lemur & baby zebra were a real hit with my kids. I didn’t see the lynx kittens though. The walled garden aviary with Dik-Dik and Weavers is fantastic. Can’t wait to return & well done to all the staff. Superb!
