Anybody knows when the practice of luring nesting birds with dummies was first used for conservation?
I found puffins in Maine in 1973, but this may be not the first one.

This paper specifically says that the above was the first: "This project was the first to use decoys for attracting seabirds back to a historical nesting site."

Thanks, just wanted to be sure for the website might be inaccurate. Attracting birds by bird dummies for hunting is known since prehistoric times.
