Prague Zoo Praha Prague Zoo News 2020

With most importantly a complete stock list at the bottom :). Maybe someone could explain them that ordering the species by the common Czech name instead of taxonomy is rather confusing....

Which pages of the report is this on? I seem to not be able to find it...

Have been having a fair bit of fun reading through that for any interesting tidbits which have slipped our attention :)

I’m only seeing finance/planning sheets? Maybe I’m confused...

Page 86 of the annual report, but page 88 of the PDF document itself due to the fact that the document counts the two sides of the front cover as pages too!

Great news! That is probably the reason why i didn't see any on my 2 visits earlier this week.

Given that Prague holds apparently "the biggest group outside their native range" i really doubt this was the reason.

Thinking about it I don’t think I’ve ever seen Philippine scops owls at Prague, unless they’re in that row of aviaries near the entrance that has all the other awesome bird species...as in that case I will have been distracted by Luzon tarictic hornbill, coleto, rufous-fronted laughingthrush and spotted imperial pigeon :p

Yup they are there and I saw them like two times (one of those times only because keeper was cleaning the indoors during that moment), but not like I pay much attention to those aviaries anyways...:D

You have :p I helped you spot one last year!

And yes, that is where they are.

I think I lose half of my memories every time I visit the Czech Republic....

We also saw the owls on our visit ;) :D

The Taipei Zoo in Taiwan is going to send two pangolins to the Prague Zoo as gifts and as parts of an animal exchange agreement between the two cities, which forged sisterhood ties earlier this year. A female named Jun Hou Tang and a male named Kuo Pao will be sent to the Prague Zoo in the near future after animal quarantine issues are resolved. Prague will then become the second European zoo to have pangolins, after Leipzig. Further future animal transfers as part of this cooperation are also planned.
