I may be visiting the zoo this summer, out of interest what are the enclosures like at the moment? And how easy is to to see the Iberian lynx? Thanks
Dies the last baby Iberian Lynx was born in the Zoobotánico Jerez.
The breeding of snapper, born at the end of March, died last Friday, April 14 for problems caused by a "maternal abandonment", according to the autopsy. The puppy had been handled without apparent problems by her mother, a female with experience (who had brought forward several healthy pups in recent years), during his first 18 days of life.
That is really bad news. The Jerez Zoo is well known for its work with raptors. The zoo has closed after two positive cases of West Nile fever were detected in a recently deceased black vulture and a bearded vulture.
The government of Andalusia will authorise the reopening once it has been determined whether or not there is a risk to public health.
