Valencia had them (until they sent their last individuals to Pairi this year) and Tierpark Hagenbeck still keeps the species - both of which are relatively well-visited by the members of this forum I think.

Apparently no longer, which perhaps isn't surprising given the recent state of Venezuela.
How regularly are the SeaWorlds really visited by ZooChatters, though? And how many ZooChatters have really been? As far as I can tell their yearly visitation rarely sees more than a few members of this site.

Isn't SeaWorld San Diego often paired with SDZ on trips?
I was on the western coast of Turkey on a guided boat tour with my family and we saw a silhouette which we thought was a shark. But it was a seal. And one that was known for being imprinted on humans at that.

How do you know for sure that it was a seal though ?
It is incredibly hard to discern an animal from a silhouette and even more so when this animal is swimming underwater.
The person who knew what the animal is was the captain. And the seal was heading towards the shore which some people were in the water.

Fair enough, I guess it was probably a Mediterranean monk seal.
Looking at the gallery alone, it seems it is visited more often than I thought, though it seems there was a big spike in ZooChatters visiting from 2018 onwards.
Still, SDZ and SDZSP are more often paired. SeaWorld is much more expensive than visiting both those zoos together and has a lot less to offer so I think it's often skipped. For the purposes of this thread, I'd still argue Walruses are still a species most North American and European ZooChatters have not seen, even if there area a few more well-visited collections with them than I previously thought.

I think I'd split that further and say maybe more North America Zoochatters have seen Walrus, as there seem to be quite a few more collections with them than in Europe. Paira Daiza has only had them since the Spring, and its a difficult year for visiting zoos obviously (I havent been to one since this virus business started). I don't know how popular Haderwijk is, but Hamburg is way up in Northern Germany and not so much on the regular Zoo visiting radar as some of the more frequent destinations I don't think.
Considering the only holders are rarely visited collections, I would say yes.
I saw a Nelson's Sparrow for the first time today, have any others seen that species?
Yeah my exclusion of Hamburg and Haderwijk was due to them appearing to be in locations somewhat difficult for many ZooChatters to get to while on zoo tours.

I'd hardly call the second-largest city in Germany hard to reach
it's got direct train connections to all the other major cities in the country, and as Thylo may recall I actually suggested he use it as a base to visit Walsrode from during his 2018 European zoo tour, rather than his eventual decision of Hannover.How long have Haderwijk had walrus? I did go there about 30 years ago.
They've had them since the mid-1970s I believe.
