Think these were in the old red River hog enclosure when we went last week. So must have been moved this week.Visited Whipsnade today and the emus that were in the old Gaur paddock have now been replaced by a pair of Visayan Warty Pigs.

Programme tonight ITV 9pm about ZSL. Apparently they've teased an announcement regarding whether there are any elephant pregnancies although I would have thought it's a bit early considering the bull has only been there 12 months but exciting programme to watch anyhow.
I believe sizzle is the old male they have had for years. Sizzle is a nickname they use for him and don't use his actual name.It would appear that ZSL Whipsnade have acquired a new male White rhino named Sizzle, appears the aim is to start breeding with him and the new two females. Not sure on Sizzle’s origin.
Ah thanks for thatI believe sizzle is the old male they have had for years. Sizzle is a nickname they use for him and don't use his actual name.

Indeed "Nsiswa" has been at Whipsnade almost twenty-nine years; he arrived 31st October 1991.Correct. Nsiswa (pet name Sizzle) has been at the zoo for many years.
So Donna isn’t pregnant so be 2023 before any elephant babies !! By then they maybe able to breed from Elizabeth as they seem like they are the only two they want to breed from!
Sounds positive- I don't think they would tease a negative...
In ideal world yes, but Ming Jung need to grow a lot bigger in the next few years to be able to mount Karishma. So currently the only female similar size to him is Donna who is also a teenager herself that’s why even in the documentary she went running over to him to say hello! So I was wrong there- if they scanned her(Donna) and she isn't in calf (yet). The fact they scanned her means they are expecting a pregnancy from her at some stage. Presumably they hope Karishma will breed again also?
There's not been a male bongo at Whipsnade since 2016 so that's excellent news.Whipsnade posted on twitter that a 3 year old male bongo has arrived and they are hopeful of breeding with the current females.
Cant remember the last time they had bongo babies.
