What's an animal a local zoo has that is rarely seen otherwise?

Basically, does your local zoo have an animal that you rarely ever seem to see in other zoos?

Over here in the UK, the Maned Wolf is extremely rare, but my local zoo, Banham Zoo, has a pair and since I work there, I see them quite often.

A lot to be honest, thinking of zoos local here which hold endemic species rarely seen outside of Brazil. To name but a few:

Buffy tufted marmosets

Pampas cats

Southern muriquis

Black lion tamarins

Golden lancehead vipers

Oncilla

Lear's macaw

Wied's marmoset

Alcatrazes lancehead viper

Pampas deer

Marsh deer

Vieira's titi monkey

Rondon's marmoset

Neotropical river otter

Greater grison

Pied tamarin

Brown howler monkey

STL is one of the few zoos with Horned Guans, and I think the only one to have successfully bred them. They’re bizarre-looking birds, but definitely worth checking out.

There are quite a number of Mexican zoos that have bred them in captivity, but yes, overall it has been relatively few zoos that have had success with this species.

Minnesota zoo has transcaspian urials, fishers, Hawaiian monk seals, woodland caribou, dholes, and possibly still the last goitered gazelles in The U.S.A. We also have a lot of species kept of exhibit, so there could be more. We used to have many more rarity’s, like banded palm civets, northern Luzon giant cloud rats, mudskippers, striped hyenas, New Guinea singing dogs, long tailed weasels, greater Malayan chevrotains, nigiri thars, sunda slow lorises, leopard cats, Darien pikas, Alberts squirrels, and much more.

Any breeding success with the Sunda slow loris ?

I live about 15 minutes from Southwick's Zoo which is the only holder of Vicuña in the US, On a more global scale Animal Adventures has African Pale Fox which is only held by a few places in the world

Oh, If only I could have moved to Minnesota sooner!

Port Lympne has Rusty spotted cats, guinea baboons and Barbary lions, which surprisingly few places (at least as far as I’m aware) keep
