Burgers Zoo Masterplan

I am interested at the development at the Burgers Zoo in Arhem. Did the Zoo release some kind of Masterplan to the public ? They had some major developments in the last few years, but still have a lot of unused space, and still develop for example the Burgers Bush and the old Bird House even more. I would like to know what we can expect in the next few years

The short answer is: nobody outside a small inner circle knows.

They have made a masterplan for the coming 10 years, but typically new projects are only announced when they are almost underway.

Given the covid impact you can expect delays to any plans and it seems that the further renovation of the Bush restaurant has already been pushed back.

Areas to expect developments are the current bird house and a renovation of the behind the scenes area (verzorgingscentrum) behind the Reindeer which both are 50 years old and outdated.

But the most important thing is to be patient and wait for announcements from their side. It is a privately run zoo that is very sparse with giving out info they don't feel the need to share...
