Yorkshire Wildlife Park Yorkshire Wildlife Park News 2020

As someone who knows Whipsnade well, the enclosure is definitely not a shocker. That being said, it is time they moved. I'll really miss them, that enclosure at Whipsnade means a lot to me but hopefully I'll be able to visit YWP next year and 'catch up' with the Sea Lions again :)

Let’s agree to disagree; for me it was a shocker, but it’s gone now so perhaps we all move on.

I’m not here to argue with anyone.....

Looking forward to seeing their new habitat....

Me too, as I think the whipsnade habitat was ok for like 3 adults but now their are 6 sea lions it is definitely too small, As also all 3 juveniles are males they will also have to move on to other collections within a year or 2 as won’t they want to fight with their dad?. As they moved the first born male pup born Oscar after just a year! So this is what I was expecting at whipsnade originally and their keeper last year said she couldn’t find a suitable home for the two eldest male pups to move too that’s why they stayed put!

That’s really interesting information, thank you so much for this

My Dad lives about 1/2 hr from Doncaster, so will be paying a visit before Xmas I hope....

Although I doubt from earlier posts it will be finished by then...

I actually really liked the London Zoo Sealion habitat, but that might have been my very young rose tinted glasses....

The Zoo has never seemed the same without that iconic bark of the magnificent male reverberating through the whole Zoo....

Magical times for me as a nipper

Actually the old sealion enclosure at London was pretty good for its age, with the landscaped rocky islets and grassy rock margins and the cliff. And you aren't the first to comment on here about the sound of the bull sealion reverbating around the zoo being one of London's classic zoo sounds of a bygone era.

Do you think ywp will get snow leopards for the himalayan pass. A new species will be comming to the himalayan pass because there are climbing structures in the smooth coated otter enclosure. Just behind the Himalayan pass and behind the geldada enclosure they are going to be building an asian forest exhibit in the future I think ywp will get sun bears and greater one horned rhino. (Sorry for replying to someone's comment that is irrelevant to my topic but I dosent let me post a chat.

The climbing structures on the SCO will likely be for the Binturong
