Do you really thing they are good? They're utter garbage. At least the new movies have some nice ideas and don't make you cringe the entire time.
Oh no, I dont think there that great at all, (well maybe except for ROTS), the originals are Easily the best, hands down, it was a joke mocking anakins line in episode 3. :)
But my only objection to the prequels is that they were much more creative than the sequel trilogy. I just think the sequels more took off from nowhere, where the first six flowed together nicely. Like the Sequels were pin pointed and plotted along the line, but the stuff in between was more nonsense than story. And c'mon, the prequels were the definition of my childhood, I noticed the problems later on, but when I was younger I absolutely loved the prequels, and always tried to copy the lightsaber battles with sticks.

While I agree on Episode IV - VI being by far the best, I feel just the other way around regarding the prequels vs. sequels. For me, Episode VII - IX are an incoherent mess full of cringeworthy moments, while Episodes I - III are far, far away from being perfect, but at least more coherent than the crock produced by Ms. Kennedy.

I absolutely agree story wise for I-III being better then VII-IX. BUT not in acting. In VII-IX you have the great Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher (older but golder, still charming) again, while in I-III you have Jake Lloyd and Hayden Christensen, bringing you to the situation where you don't know if you should vomit or get angry. Not to mention this endless bothering CGI-creature Jar Jar Binks. Also, it wasn't a "oscar-suspicious" performance of Natalie Portman. So even Ewan McGregor and Liam Neeson were not able to save/rescue it.

I agree that the acting is way batter in the sequels, but its not really their fault the movie was bad either. They just had some crazy unrealistic staff on board with the most confusing plot points and twists ever. And the rise of skywalkers storyline just broke me. "Oh yes, my dagger clearly can match up with this very convenient death star wreckage." "This map that leads to a map will work". It just felt goonies-ish, and none of the cameos saved the movie for me.

I really did enjoy the new trilogy (and did not and have never enjoyed the prequels), but I do agree that Rise of Skywalker is the worst of the sequels and really is most an incoherent mess saved only by a few nice scenes.

Honestly, my opinion of the sequels range from mildy disappointing to more or less awful. Before the sequels came out I thought that the prequels (except Revenge of the sith) were bad but (imo) they are pretty damn good compared to the sequels. just my opinion though.

While we're on the topic of star wars, I think I found the video that introduced me to Star Wars. A bit old and it has Jar Jar but I'll always remember it:

Ford, Fisher and Hamill are just used as mere tokens to score nostalgia points with the older fans. They are only there to be auxiliary servants to the new main characters, in particular "Anything you can do, I can do better, I can do anything better than you" Rey.
Ford was just there for the paycheck, and Hamill has made no secret of his disdain for the way his character was abused. And most of the new characters are neither miracle actors nor are they given time to shine (I'm looking at you, poor Captain Plasma). The prequels have "Woody" Hayden, but they also have Christopher Lee and Samuel L. Jackson as well as the aforementioned McGregor and Neeson who tried their best with the underwhelming script. Sure, there is a lot of wooden acting and silly dialogs in the prequels; but the same can be said about the new movies, as hundreds of angry YT commentators will eagerly tell you.
And there are plenty of silly CGI characters in the sequels as well.
As mentioned by others: I don't like the prequels, but the sequels somehow manage to make them look better in comparison. And the prequels have no blatant intention to "woke" me up and sledge hammer some weird "The Force is Female" ideology into me.
