If you could only visit 5 countries in your lifetime

Bit like me. Ideally I would like to revisit everywhere I’ve already been, and everywhere else as well. Not wildly keen on Antarctica though — no ducks, pheasants, Passerines or doves. Quite like sheathbills and skuas. Penguins.....meh.

Lol, yes, it is a hard one for sure.

Why no penguins though ? o_O

Which are all common in other areas as well. I just have little interested in visiting such a destroyed place.

Iceland is also one of the best places in Europe to find American vairgrants if you are into that. also good whale waching and around 60% of the worlds puffins and big numbers of outher sea birds. Island is not species rich but the nubers of induviduals of some species are mind blowing

tho i dont like that they still hunt whales even when most of it eaten by
tourists

I want to visit Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Netherlands and Switzerland. All of them because of zoos, cities and nature.

You are significantly underestimating the natural beauty of Iceland, not only from a biological sense but possibly even more from a geological sense (being located on the mid-atlantic ridge). Only 25-40% of Iceland used to be forest, so there are a lot more destroyed places on earth, such as Borneo, Madagascar, Ethiopia and the US to name a few. Very few of those areas can boost the landscape diversity that Iceland can with so little people around...

It should also be noted that both duck species are from a European perspective unique to Iceland and it is the most accessible location for us to see them.

This list is in order from most desired place to least.

1. Singapore
2. Japan
3. South Africa
4. Germany
5. United Kingdom
