Species you've never heard of before.

All three species do it?
Erm.. Its a Monotypic genus with one species. Are you thinking of something else?
EDIT: Ah, okay. I understand what you mean. All Heliornithidae species? No, Just Heliornis fulica.
 
Not sure what exactly an "Akikiki" is (sounds like one of the Hawaiian honeycreepers), all the others are species (or groups of species, such as mesites) that I knew before joining Zoochat. Only saw two of them in zoos, tough (The relatively common four-eyed fish and the much rarer bananaquit), while one I would give a kidney for seeing and photographing it alive (the giant ibis). Hmmm.. just exaggeration, I appreciate very much my kidneys :P
 
I’ve been fortunate enough to see two Mesite species (Brown and Subdesert), both Linmpkin subspecies and several Bananaquit subspecies in the wild. Never seen a Hawaiian honeyeater however.
