Does anyone know which sun bear is in the outdoor enclosure at the jaguar house?
Is it the male giant anteater in the smaller paddock and the female the bigger one with the capybara's? Why is there temporary fencing up there too?

Neither of the sun bears are at the jaguar house right now. I believe it is the male anteater in the smaller paddock currently.

I was there today and the sun bear is def there.
Thanks about the anteater i thought so.
 
Yes, I would imagine if one of them is there now it would be the cub. Sorry for assuming they weren't there, I was basing that off my last visit in early December. I am visiting tomorrow so I might be able to confirm if it is in fact the cub.

@Shaz do you know the whereabouts of the bush dogs?
 
All three sun bears were in the Sun Bear enclosure(s) in Islands when we visited early December. Male was in the right hand side (your right as you look at them) and the two females had the viewable indoor section and the left hand side. Have they ever been in the Jaguar house - I thought it was the male Spectacled Bear who was moved their previously?

AFAIK the young sun bear “Kyra” is now in the outdoor enclosure on the entrance side of SotJ; the Bush Dogs still have the indoor (but are therefore off-show while tier 4 restrictions are in place).

The two adult Sun Bears were kept separately in these two enclosures before they moved to Islands.

Def a sun bear today but yes you are right about spectacled bear in the past

With 2021 now upon us, am I right in saying that animal inventories from 2019 have still yet to be published?
 
Anyone help with this Chester Zoo Guide/Leaflet just opens out with a back and front map in the middle looked around and can't find a year for this one.
Have had others named but not this one?

Must be somewhere between 1971 and 1977 if that helps.

Was baby Bornean Orangutan baby named? Leia gave birth in October 2020
 
Any ideas why there is one cheetah, currently housed separately, in another area of the zoo to the others? So good to be back there this week :)
