Most beautiful sculptures at zoos ?

They do have other statues around but are more bronze styled metal statues. I do think they are very aesthetically pleasing but don’t carry the same weight or message as this statue. This statue to me engrosses the visitor into their environment and shows off aspects of Southwest Asian culture throughout. It stands out on top of the rest and is an immersive experience in my opinion. But the other statues are allocated near their Nairobi Village area and it show cases smaller mammals, reptiles, etc.

Well thats a very interesting view and thanks for sharing it @Julio C Castro !

Personally I have to say I'm a big fan of bronze statues with a strong sense of realism , for example at the LA zoo I really like the gorilla bust statue by Rick Baker.

They are really well done and I know EXACTLY the statue you speak of, it’s near Campo Gorilla Reserve and it’s dedicated to one of our gorillas. It’s very detailed. I forgot to mention that the SD Zoo has some bronze busts of gorillas after you enter directly ahead as well :)

It is beautifully crafted and it is pretty incredible that it was made by the special effects artist who worked on "American werewolf in London" which is one of my all time favourite movies.

Both Denver Zoo and Minnesota Zoo have similarly styled abstract animal statues that I enjoy, grouped together in one specific area.

Thanks for sharing @geomorph !

Not sure I prefer this abstract / geometric type style to the naturalistic bronze sculptures but its certainly interesting.

Out of the pictures here the ones I think look particularly good are the crocodile and the impala, the crocodile just looks brilliant.

Lincoln Park Zoo's East Gate has an impressive sculptural arch:

Wow! that is indeed a very ornate gate and there is a lot going on there.

I have to say I love the iguana !

Another abstract sculpture that I enjoy is the dynamic fountain grouping in Impala Plaza at Philadelphia Zoo:

Yes, that is very abstract, not sure that its my sort of sculpture but it certainly is interesting and there is a great sense of movement and energy to it.

Philadelphia Zoo has a really nice sculpture collection. Here are some others.

This is a statue of two Lions on the side walk before the entrance. One of the Lions has an arrow in her side. I really like the message with this one.

Across the path, there is a Mayan-themed sculpture near the Jaguar exhibit.

In the African Plains, there are some giraffe statues.

This Polar Bear still stands, though the exhibit is now occupied by Humboldt Penguins and Flying Steamer-Ducks.

Rhinoceros statue in one of the Meerkats' sand pits.

This large metal sculpture usually has water running throughout it. I haven't seen it running for a while now. It's in front of the Giant Otter exhibits.

And this isn't even all of them. I recall warthog, turtle, toucan, vulture, kangaroo, and Meerkat statues, as well. I'm visiting in a few weeks, so I'll get more pictures!

Thank you for sharing @red river hog ! Much appreciated!

I really like the lion sculpture too, very powerful scene.

The giraffes too look excellent and very elegant.

That would be brilliant if you could post some more pictures of those other sculptures that you mention , that would be awesome !
