2. Yes, the orangutans and NSCS buildings will go there. However with the current situation of EU moves the zoo may build a new enclosure for temporary measures.
Is this part of the masterplan? Are these plans available online (or on here)?

Rhino's having all new fencing and the houses doors replaced and the floor removed and sand put in.Have to say I can't see a million being spent on the Elephant house. I could hardly see any noticeable conversion at all.
I didn't realise the extent of the work involved- but a million for that still sounds an awful lot. Phew!Rhino's having all new fencing and the houses doors replaced and the floor removed and sand put in.
Also Sudan wasn't the male they intended. Twycross were negotiating for a strong male from Port Lympne around Nandis age to create a breeding pair. However he was highly scared of crates and when he entered one he immediately broke the roof with his horn. Sudan was then choose to help leipzig and stronger the connections between both sites.
In summary both paddocks were intended for breeding but Twycross was handed training animals so staff and site can adjust and learn how to give the maximum welfare for the new species.
Thanks for the clarification. Do you know the name of the bull rhino they tried to get from Port Lympne?. Proven males are in relatively short supply it seems, even down there. Paignton similarly received an untried male for their female the second time around as PL needed the original bull Kingo for themselves so couldn't send him back to Devon to sire a second calf. That has resulted in no further calves being born at Paignton.
Are the last four ex 'Colony building' Chimps still living seperately?Unfortunately not , I didn't get a name due to the work load at the time being primarily focused on chimp introductions.
Yes , there was an issue at the time which was resolved. There hasn't been any introductions during covid due to lack of staff and worries of transmission between the primates. Are the last four ex 'Colony building' Chimps still living seperately?

One intresting part on page 25, where the trustees are confident the group can continue for at least the next twelve months, good news for the zoo

Not sure. I wonder if parts of it will be delayed, due to the closures? As mentioned before on here, the CEO is awesome, so if anyone can ride this storm, it is herI wonder what will be next for Twycross as part of their masterplan.
