So apparently this zoo is home to a leucistic okapi calf named Mzimu born one day after last Christmas.

I was curious about Mzimu’s lineage, so this is what I came up with for okapi at Al Bustan Zoo. I believe the details on the first 7 are correct, however there is a discrepancy with Johari and Mzimu. Earlier in this thread it was reported that Farida gave birth to her third calf (Johari). On the instagram post about Mzimu, it says his parents arrived in 2012, making his mother Farida. Obviously, she didn’t have 2 calves in 13 months, so I’m assuming Mzimu’s mother is M’bura? If anyone can confirm his parentage, that would be great. Thanks

Do we know how Mzimu is doing? I can’t find any photos of him grown up.
He's since moved to 'Vantara', the private residence of billionaire Annat Ambani.
He can be seen in this Youtube video from 21.20:

Thank you!! I’m so happy to see that he’s in such a great habitat and with friends. That’s is truly a phenomenal private zoo, you can tell that the animals are truly respected and valued and not just a collection.
