Volunteers rescue more than 2,500 cold-stunned sea turtles in Texas | WFLA

The big freeze in Texas has caused thousands of sea turtles to need rescuing in South Padre Island alone. Their facility doesn't have room for all of the turtles, so many are being housed at a local convention center. Power outages are a concern.

I haven't seen much news outside of the sea turtle situation, and sadly, an animal sanctuary where several animals died from the cold due to the power outage. There's concern that the freeze will kill a lot of fish.

Sea Turtle Inc rescue numbers have reached 4000. They've been asking for donations online.

US winter storm: Sea turtles rescued in Texas released back into ocean on slides

Over 2,200 rescued turtles at Sea Turtle Inc. have been released back into the ocean through the use of a big slide. Very cute, lol. Many turtles remain at the facility having injuries and illnesses treated.
