Oceanário de Lisboa Lisbon Oceanarium

anta rays, Molas, whale sharks, Octopi, sea dragons, some species of sharks, much tropical reed fish etc... aren't possible to reproduce so far. Either because it is not possible or because our knowledge about their reproductive biology is still unknown (which is pretty common for marine species).

Seadragons have successfully bred at quite a few collections in North America, Europe *and* Australia :P

I know, but it is still hard and many times hard to replicate or substitute wild harvesting. Can you name a few of those aquariums?

Just off the top of my head, SeaLife Weymouth, Melbourne Zoo, Poema del Mar, Aquarium of the Pacific and Monterey Bay.

Went to Oceanarium last week...no more Giant Sunfish on display . A little bummed about it, still a very aquarium.

That's shame! When I was there one month ago, there was still one on display.

Two Zebra sharks (Stegostoma fasciatum) that arrived at Oceanarium from Aquarium Nausicaa last year are now on show!

Does anyone have any more info on this as it’s been a few months since they were last not seen?

Thinking to go over Christmas but they were the major draw for me.

They’ve got what look like nursehound sharks in their alcid exhibit too…goddamn man. Someday I have to get out there.
