Nice a new holder. A very rare zebra subspecies of conservation importance!The first Maneless zebra in Hungary, who named Kevin, arrived from Prague
A male Silvery-cheeked hornbill (Bycanistes brevis) arrived from Lodz.
Four Spot-billed teals (Anas poecilorhyncla) from Plsen and a single Amazon teal from Dortmund arrived.
A pair of South African porcupines arrived. The male is from Leipzig, the female arrived from Prague.
Is this for some newly built exhibit?

A male Palawan peacock-pheasant arrived from Vogelpark Avifauna.
Two Blue-and-yellow ara chicks hatched.

A female Luzon cloud rat arrived from Lodz. The zoo expects to the arrival of another specimen.
A pair of African grey parrots arrived from Szeged.
An Eurasian eagle-owl arrived from Ostrava.
A male Blue-headed macaw (Primolius couloni) arrived from Ostrava. The zoo expects to the arrival of a female.

Three Wood ducks arrived from Kosice.
The zoo sent their female Eland antelopes to other zoos, and they received a new female from Ostrava to their male. They expect to the arrival of other females..
Three White-faced whistling ducks arrived from Zürich.
Female Laysan duck arrived from Ostrava. Based on ZTL this is the first ever specimen in Hungary

"Long Journey Ahead for Torsten the Forest Buffalo!
Although this year seems just no less busy than previous ones in terms of collection growth, it is still rare for to have a future or outgoing zoo resident travel almost 3000 km to its destination. After long preparations, our 9-year-old African forest buffalo named Torsten is now on his way to Zoo Aquarium de Madrid under recommendations by the European Studbook Program (EAZA - the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria ESB).
Exhibited in less than 30 zoos throughout Europe, African forest buffalos first appeared in Debrecen with the arrival of two young males from Berlin in 2017. Named Frantz and Torsten, they spent their adolescence in our Africa Panorama Enclosure together but have since reached a point in adulthood where we must separate them. Frantz was the first to move away last year and it is now time for Torsten to join the breeding group assigned by the studbook keeper, with hopes of his contribution to the growth of the European zoo population." says the zoo's Facebook page.
