Burgers' zoo has finally opened Burgers' zoo camp! A project they've been working on for a while now. You are now able to stay overnight in tents, breakfast and dinner in the Safari restaurant and evening access to the zoo with guides

Finally visited Burgers' again yesterday, I noticed that one of the pig-tailed macaques in Rimba was carrying a baby on her belly.
I also noticed that the Black hornbills in Park were nesting, the male was running around collecting hay and twigs while the female was hidden away in the hollow tree
Also would like recommend anyone who's planning on going to Burgers' zoo to wait for a day with cooler temperatures, because it was at least 40 degrees in some places in the Bush and the only cool places are Ocean and Desert (the caves, at least. Desert was also up to 35 C) and you need to go through bush to get to those

Are there any updates regarding silverback Bauwi and his sons being moved to another zoo? There was an article about this last year, have the plans changed?

Willem-Alexander is the great God of the swamp realm. What have you done to gain his all mighty wrath.
No clue, but a swarm of a billion mosquitos now guards the swamp I usually hike in, if I go past a certain point they'll all fly up and swarm me, if I step behind that point again they suddenly disappear. It's very strange

Sounds like a perfect opportunity to scoop them up in a net, jar them, put them under a good magnifying glass and identify the species to me

Uhhh, that sounds, almost impossible... Tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus) is a VERY rare species to encounter here.. Only ever really happens in harbor ports when they open containers and then immediately terminate them.. They're quite invasive.. I encourage you to capture a few and privately message me pictures if you are REALLY sure about this. Because then they will need to get exterminated.
Pretty sure you just get a ton of Culiseta members if not just Drosophila ..

On my latest visit I saw one hanging around near the caiman pool in Bush
So I've heard! As well as the Ocean entrance seeming to be a popular spot for the catbird.
It's just like the green iguanas, my biggest nemesis species, within the Zoo.
I've yet to see the green iguana ever.... after almost 15 years of visiting the zoo...
