Noah's Ark Zoo Farm Noah's Ark Zoo Farm 2021

@demonmoth do you know if Noah's Ark will welcome anymore Elephants to Elephant Eden?

I understand that you may find this difficult but you really need to learn to show some compassion after a tragic incident.
Mchanga was more than likely a much loved individual who's loss will have devasted all of his keepers and everyone involved in the zoo. As a group us followers and members of zoochatters should support them in any way we can without speculation about a replacement.

@Embu I am not talking about a replacement as no Elephant will replace M'Changa, as he was an individual, with his own personality and habits. as such no Elephant will replace him.I was innocently saying that now M'Changa has passed there will be space to accommodate further young bulls. I am sorry if I came across as cold or insensitive. This was definitely not my intention.

@Embu due to my mild learning disabilities I sometimes ask inappropriate questions. Please do not take offense by anything I said.

I understand what your saying and I have no doubt that it wasn't intentional, but please remember that there is a time and place for things to be said. It's only been 4 days since the terrible accident.
In response to whether new bulls will be brought in, who knows? Probably but not for a few if not upto 6 months as they will probably want to monitor the behaviour of the remaining 2 first I'm guessing.

Not that I know off I think they will be investigating the situation before they have any more male elephants join the all male group. As the attack was unprovoked and out of the blue as the males showed no aggression and got on well enough. So it's a big upset to all and they don't want to rush into it

I messaged Noah's Ark regarding the tragic death of M'Changa and this is their reply.

Hi George, we have no intention to stop having Elephants at our zoo. We pride ourselves on our unique bull facility as it is helping serve wider EEP African conservation efforts. Please see our website for all the details we have provided the public as we are not naming the elephant involved. In regards to the news over the weekend, the government have no plans to ban the keeping of elephants in zoos. Yes we normally do offer elephant experiences, but due to covid, this has been suspended. Please keep an eye on our website for the latest updates.

@Embu I hope that the Elephant involved in M'Changa's death is not euthanized due to bring aggressive.
I think this is something that would be thought off they will have cctv and see what actually happened it's quite rare for an unprovoked attack from elephants especially ones that have been together for 3 years

I meant not thought off I also why would that be a subject to be brought up? Idon't know why it should be a subject to be brought to the light. its like when chimpanzees attack one another its done for a reason and no enthuazing happens.

On my last couple of visits there was a lot of sparing between the elephants.

@Ned can you tell me which Elephants were sparing,so I can have an idea of whom fatally attacked M’Changa?
I'm not really sure that it makes much of a difference now as to which elephant it was. Sparing is probably a very regular occurrence with a group of Male elephants so I don't think that it could definitely be the elephant who was seen sparing that attacked M'Changa anyway.

@GiraffeJack10 do you think that the Bull that attacked M’Changa will be moved to pastures new to prevent any more incidents.
