How do you get alerts when a specific member that you follow uploads photos, because it doesn’t for me?

Right now I don't believe there is a specific function for this - if you are looking for uploads to a specific zoo page, you can watch the media posted to that zoo's page by going to the zoo's media page and pressing 'Watch Category' in the top corner, which means you will receive alerts when any media is posted to that page.

You can also go to Settings -> Your News Feed where all actions by any of the people you follow are shown. As long as you don't follow too many people or they aren't too active, you can fairly easily see their recent media posts.

Apart from those two options (and of course looking up that person's media page), I don't think there is another way but @Simon Hampel would probably be able to tell you more :).

Alerts don't work that way - and there is no connection between following someone and receiving an alert.

As mentioned - following someone simply includes their content in your news feed: https://www.zoochat.com/community/account/news-feed

Alerts come from setting "watches" on various content. For example, you can watch a thread and receive alerts when someone makes a new post. You can also watch a media category and receive alerts when someone uploads media to that category.

You cannot "watch" a member and receive alerts about them.
