Onychorhynchus coronatus

I forgot to tell you guys that the female Gray's bald-faced saki is pregnant.
Did they post this on their social media or how do you know this ?

That's great! Do you think it's already a result of the improvements of the exhibit?
David, probably not, because the zoo had already bred sakis before. @Onychorhynchus coronatus , do you remember that guy whom I talked about here (André Sebastião, the Rio de Janeiro zoo's non-official blog owner)? So, he frequently visits the institution and chats with the staff, even managing to talk to the institution's director. This is how I get most of the zoo's news (other than the zoo's official pages on various social media platforms).Did they post this on their social media or how do you know this ?

What species of pelican?i'm here to say that the bioparque now got recently 2 male pelicans, they came from parque dois irmãos in Recife, and one day the lion simba will get 2 females coming from chile, and the bioparque will get a couple of white tigers.
the white pelicanWhat species of pelican?
the white pelican
Much probably Onocrotalus, afaik. I'm sure this is the species kept in São Paulo, and if I'm not completely wrong, Recife kept the same species.erythrorhynchos or onocrotalus ? Sorry, no idea what species is usually kept and bred in Brazilan zoos.

i guess, it's the onocrotalus.erythrorhynchos or onocrotalus ? Sorry, no idea what species is usually kept and bred in Brazilan zoos.
i don't know exactly, but they might be from santiago zoo. and about the white tigers, i hope so.Nice to know about the pelicans. Recife is "giving away" a lot of it's collection due to the new population plan, and it's great that they are finding homes for the animals that will not be included in the plan.
Hope the Bioparque gets to breed the lions in the future. Do you know if the lionesses are coming from Buin zoo?
About the white tigers, it's a shame due to the impossibility of developing conservation with them... I hope the institution develops good educational activities with the individuals.
Well, that's one nice species indeed. Gaurs are one of my favorite bovids, for sure. I have a feeling that the Bioparque is somehow trying to restore the former "glory" of Rio's collection in the last decades of XX century, with a considerable amount of exotic species. Not sure if bringing many exotics would be great for conservation itself though. Hope they have good managing plans in mind for these species.and guess what? the bioparque will get a couple of gaurs, and i think it's an interesting choice because it will be the only zoo in america to hold this specie. i'm friend of andré sebastião and he told me the bioparque should be able to get them.
i hope so, and i'm really missing the old animals like penguins, chimpanzees, birds of prey, baboons.Well, that's one nice species indeed. Gaurs are one of my favorite bovids, for sure. In my visit, a keeper told me the institution plans to build new exhibits for the baboons, but the chimpanzees and penguins are not likely to return.i hope so, and i'm really missing the old animals like penguins, chimpanzees, birds of prey, baboons.
That's great. It seems like the Bioparque is planning to keep going with the renovation at all.oh, i forgot to say something nice, the zoo will get new bengal tigers, plus the white tigers.
