Longleat Safari & Adventure Park Longleat Safari Park 2021

Regarding elephants, does Longleat have long term plans post-Anne? I remember the African group before they had to move abroad due to costs, but there’s no doubt the park has the space.
Seems like there is a demand and supply isue with Elephants. Everyone wants to see them, in fact expects to see them in the Safari Parks, but they are not readily available anymore. The current UK Safari Parks have tiny numbers (perhaps Woburn excepted with 5) and no real indication where they might restock from.

@Panthera1981 I would say that it is almost certain that Longleat will welcome a herd of Elephants. Anne’s Haven is only 6 years old. The building was constructed to hold a large number of Eles. Unfortunately people from outside of Longleat said that Anne would be better off alone.

The reason the Elephant herd was sent to Beaval Zoo in France, was that Limbo the male was maturing and showing aggression.
Now that Longleat has Anne’s vast purpose built enclosure I am 90% sure that they will welcome back a herd of elephants. Note I am not a Longleat employee,so don’t know anymore than you when it comes to the future of Elephants at the Safari Park.

Watching Animal Park and there's a lioness called Zuri any idea which pride she is in? Harry's or Simba & Klaus?

Zuri is in klaus and simba's pride, but in the smaller group. Unfortunately the 7 females in the pride kicked kink and Zuri out off the pride, so they and 2 castrated males (Sylvester and Jumba) are rotated round so they each get time out in the drive through.

that was fun this summer watching Animal Park

Confirmed on Animal Park that the secretary birds (housed in the vulture aviary on the drive through) have had at least 1 chick.
Also on Animal Park but now confirmed by Longleat, they have 2.2 red squirrels that will be going on show in between 'Monkey Temple' and 'Koala Creek'.
I hope to visit the park during the next couple of weeks so will fingers crossed see these new arrivals, and also visit the 'Under the moon' exhibit.

I have enjoyed watching Animal Park these last few weeks, I like that it is fairly recent (only about 3/4 months old). I have enjoyed seeing some native wildlife e.g beavers on the estate I just wish there was slightly less filming at 'Family farmyard' - more of the rarer and much more interesting species next time please! At least there was no Rio the cockatoo.....

@zoosafari123 Rio the Cockatoo will probably fly back to our screens for the Christmas series of Animal Park

What do you think of the new Red Squirrels ?

Notorious Dave the Timber wolf(known for his escape attempts) has been put down due to kidney stones. He had just turned 13 years old.

This leaves 1:0 Timber Wolf left and obviously the other pack of Eruopeans
yes it's really sad that Dave had to be put to sleep
