North Carolina Zoo North Carolina's antelope

Actually, I think ISIS is correct, they list:

1.0 Gemsbok
1.0 Blesbok
1.0 Defassa Waterbuck
2.15 Nile Lechwe
0.1 Sitatunga
4.1 Greater Kudu
10.0 Thompson Gazelle

It would probably be tough to spot the solitary gemsbok, blesbok, defassa waterbuck and sitatunga in such an immensely large enclosure. Isn't the rhino/antelope paddock something like 30 acres in size? Finding the only representative of a species would actually make it exciting for zoo nerds like us.

Yeah the elephant enclosure is 7 acres and the antelope/rhino paddock is 37 acres. I'm going to tis zoo for spring break so I'll time myself when I start looking for solitary antelope!

Good call Mario! We desperately need more photos in the ZooChat gallery of this absolutely enormous zoo, and the antelope/white rhino paddock is larger than many major zoos around the world. Adelaide Zoo in Australia is receiving giant pandas later this year but is only 20 acres in size, and even London Zoo in England is only around 35 acres. North Carolina has 37 acres for rhinos/antelopes, and another 7 acres for its elephant herd...plus loads more exhibits.

And can you take lots of pics of the whole zoo.
Will do. I'm really excited because normally I love diverse collections, but I am a lot more interested in the exhibits themselves, not the inhabitants. The main reason I'm going is to see Nkosi (Nik) a silverback that left Columbus to breed there. But the rest of the zoo seems really cool as well!

The viewing area for the African Savanna paddock is on a ridge overlooking the valley in which the enclosure is in. It is not to hard to see the antelope for the most part and there are binoculars to see in more detail. Its a very beautiful scene. I have pictures that I can upload soon from my visit.
