Mixed species exhibit ideas

I don’t think Dallas has mixed any species with elephants since 2016, when elephants from Eswatini were imported (Although I could very well be wrong on this.)
Dallas still does the elephant mixes (giraffe, mountain zebra, greater kudu, ostrich, and guineafowl) a couple times a week.

I guess I just go at the wrong time then! I usually visit Dallas once or twice a year (always going to the zoo, but for some reason not DWA yet), and I’ve never seen them mixed!

You should definitely visit DWA, it's a fairly good collection of aquatic and Amazonian species. If you haven't already you should visit the Fort Worth Zoo, I highly prefer it over the Dallas Zoo.

I will definitely visit DWA next time I’m in Dallas (hopefully next year), but I’ll probably wait until Hunters of Africa & Asian Predators opens before I make a visit. May I ask what makes you prefer Forth Worth to Dallas?

Personally, I believe Fort Worth has a better reptile house (MOLA) and has a bit more variety with species. Fort Worth also has less walking area between exhibits (the largest area with no exhibits is going to be completely renovated). Fort Worth also has a bit more room for expansion and their most outdated exhibit (Texas Wild) is likely going to be updated after “A Wilder Vision” (I learned about this after talks with a few keepers). Fort Worth also contains a lot more native species, as well as more endangered species (I think so).

Are there examples of vultures or other large birds such as marabous or herons housed with ungulates in large aviaries?

I'm thinking of such a mix for my Congo project, but I'm not sure it would work and there wouldn't be a danger to either birds or ungulates.

I know of course of the aviary at Antwerp, but the species composition of that is a bit different, with smaller and medium bird species for the most part.

In Beauval, there's a very large aviary with Hippos, Nyalas and Red River Hogs (in 3 separate enclosures) mixed with plenty of birds : Storks, Crowned Cranes, Ibises, Spoonbills, Hamerkops and also Vultures (3 species), but not Marabous nor "true" Herons.

How about a mix of Black-faced ibis, Ashy-headed goose, Greater upland goose, Flightless steamer-duck, King penguin, Northern rockhopper penguin and Subantarctic gentoo penguin in a larger, cooled hall

Could Asian small-clawed otter, malayan tapir, Babirusa, and orangutan be mixed together
I’m not sure about the orangutans as other apes can get quite aggressive especially around smaller species. ASCO and Malayan tapir are are also quite shy so I’m not quite sure how well this could work.

oh ok, is there any other land animal from se asia that i could use?
because sun bears, and the hornbills usually live in the trees.
