Mammals that you have seen in the wild

I don't know if there is already a thread for this, but I couldn't find one (actually, I find it odd that there isn't one). I know a lot of people here have seen a lot of animals in the wild, and don't remember all of them, but lists about mammals you've seen in the wild are shorter and and are better able to keep up.
With me, so far it's the following species:
- Fallow deer (Dama dama)
- Eastern atlantic harbor seal (Phoca vitulina vitulina)
- Red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris)
- European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus)
- Brown rat (Rattus norvegicus)
- West European house mouse (Mus musculus domesticus)
- West European hedgehog (Erinaceus europaeus)
As you can see, not an impressive list at all. My list of birds, however, would be much more impressive, or at least I think so. I have already heard stories here on Zoochat of individuals who have seen wild moose, white-tailed deer, wapitis, and hippos, and relatives of me have seen bears and reindeers, so yes, my list doesn't amount to much. I would say go ahead.

Don't worry at all that your list isn't "impressive", you've been lucky enough to see rare species in their natural habitat, that's great in and of itself.

As for me, I've seen all of the mammals you've listed except the harbour seal and the fallow deer (I've seen a deer, but I have no idea what specific species it was). I've also seen wild moles (Talpa Europaea), least weasels (Mustela Nivalis) and at least one species of bat, I'm not sure but I think they were pipistrelles (Pipistrellus Pipistrellus)

Now that you mention it I've seen bats too. I have no idea which species it was and figuring out which species it was is rather difficult with the many species that are found in my country (Belgium).

No, it didn't have any spots. It may have been a red deer, but I can't say for sure. I've just remembered another mammal I've seen in the wild since my last post: grey squirrels (Sciurus Carolinensis).

A few years ago, some kind of cetacean beached itself along a coastline near my home town. It was on a rocky beach far from any towns or houses, but there's a train that runs along the coastline and you could see the body if you looked down at the right moment from the window of the train. It got into the newspapers about a day later, and the coast guard team sent in to get rid of the body identified it as a Cuiver's beaked whale (Ziphius Cavirostris). This is unfortunately the only time I've ever seen a cetacean in any capacity, and it was a shock to see the poor thing while I was on that train.

To add to this list, I also have seen a wild European mouflon (Ovis orientalis musimon).
I've also seen bats in my garden many times. I even think that I have seen 1 on the ground ((it was dark so I couldn't see it very well, but it did fly like a bat). I once read somewhere that some bat species sometimes go sit on the ground, but I can't find anything more about this, maybe someone here with more sense and knowledge of bats knows which species this was.
