I am currently working on one for the South-Central Black Rhinoceros.
Yes, there a number of them in the private sector and a few in AZA facilities such as Fossil Rim and Fort Worth. Are they present in the United States?
From what I can find, they currently have 2.5 but I am not sure how outdated this information is. Here are the individuals:Yes, there a number of them in the private sector and a few in AZA facilities such as Fossil Rim and Fort Worth.
@Mai Thai do you have any info about the individuals at El Coyote Ranch?
That is pretty outdated. I believe a female calf was born in 2019 and another calf of unknown gender in 2020. There may have been more before that as well. And I’m sure some of the older individuals have passed away by now. From what I can find, they currently have 2.5 but I am not sure how outdated this information is. Here are the individuals:
0.1 Jota 1977-00-00
0.1 Chinjuku 1984-00-00
1.0 Gota Gota 1985-00-00
0.1 Chilpotle (Macho x Jota) 1988-07-16
0.1 Margarita (Unknown x Chinjuku) 1989-09-11
1.0 Buster (Brewster x Barley) 1998-10-22
0.1 Chalupa (Macho x Chinjuku) 2000-06-30
Suggestions species I have are giant anteaters,Amur leopards, fossa, and red pandaAs of 11/19/2021, here is a list of all of the Species Population Lists that I have completed:
Within the next few weeks, I'm going to update all of these lists for the upcoming year, so keep an eye out for the updated populations - and if you have any information, please let me know!
- Western Lowland Gorilla (Here.)
- Bornean/Sumatran Orangutan (Here.)
- Bonobo (Here.)
- African Wild Dog (Here.)
- Dhole (Here.)
- Maned Wolf (Here.)
- Giant Otter (Here.)
- Sun Bear (Here.)
- Sloth Bear (Here.)
- Andean Bear (Here.)
- Malayan Tapir (Here.)
- Common Hippopotamus (Here.)
- Pygmy Hippopotamus (Here.)
- Matschie's Tree-Kangaroo (Here.)
The Chimpanzee list should be coming out soon too (it will be found here) so watch out for that as well! Truthfully, I never thought I'd be able to complete it.
If there are any other lists you'd like to see, please let me know!
Okapi, Koala, Fossa, Bush Dogs, and Asiatic Black Bears are all species I've been thinking about doing.

I would also like to add a proposal of making a population list for Bush Dogs as a suggestion, if possible. As of 11/19/2021, here is a list of all of the Species Population Lists that I have completed:

Edit: I just noticed that you have already listed Bush Dogs as a species you are probably interested in making a population list for, and thus, pay no attention to what I have said in the sentence above.
But even still @Great Argus, it would be more than interesting to see and understand about the individual Bush Dogs that are still remaining in US Zoos as of right now, at the very least of course.
Bush dogs would be a pretty small list at this point sadly.
I would personally like to see a population list for Snow Leopards, Masai Giraffes (is it too much to ask), Jaguars, Lowland Anoa, Tasmanian Devils, Polar Bears, North Island Brown Kiwi, Aardvarks, Gray Seals, Red River Hogs, Mexican Gray Wolves, and finally, the Baird’s Tapir if you ever have the time to create individual lists for any of the following suggestions of mine. What does everything think of these ideas? Are there other species people would like to see?
I would personally like to see a population list for Polar Bears:
