Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden News 2021

Just saw a three week old post on the Facebook Members page stating she was moved to the old fishing cat exhibit across from her... yet... it was labeled Ocelot too
Then, if no exhibit is labeled and every exhibit is filled, she most likely passed very recently within the past few weeks, very shortly after she was moved.

Her old exhibit is signed Ocelot, her alleged new exhibit is also signed Ocelot (which it has been for the last couple years). I got word from that Facebook poster, and they said they saw her Monday.

@Kevin2342 We've already been over this: please stop assuming that animals have died and telling everyone that's probably what happened when you don't actually have the information to make that claim.

I know, but other people on ZooChat have also done the same thing so it’s nothing against. How else do you want me to say if I didn’t see an animal and don’t have information on what happened and post it on here? Stop being this person. Nobody else cares. If you have a problem with this, contact Simon Hampel who is the administrator. Stop being zoo police on my posts.

Just say you didn't see it. There's no reason to speculate about why. A lot of us do care, and wild speculation hurts the forum's reputation with zoos.

Cincinnati is not my home zoo, Philadelphia is and I’ve never visited Cincinnati but I post sometimes but I post mostly about Philadelphia Zoo

I know, I have a Philly membership :) You can of course post about other zoos, but if it's something like that and it's not a zoo you visit, try to stick to things that come from the zoo itself. Those that visit the zoo more often, like Moebelle, will likely have a better idea of what's going or what the possibilities are. I read all of the news threads for USA zoos but I rarely post in any for places I haven't visited, unless I see something on social media from the zoo, or have a question.

Has anyone seen the supposed Lynx in the Night Hunters area? I know several of the NH keepers there and they have not said anything, and ZIMS does not list them as having any Lynx subspecies whatsoever. There was a Bobcat housed in the outside yard on the side of Night Hunters that passed away several months ago. ZIMS also lists the zoo as having 1.2 Ocelot (1.0 generic Santos in Cat Show) and 0.2 Primavera and Sala in Night Hunters. None have died and it's always possible that signage is not updated and cats having access to their off exhibit retreats..

I have not seen the Lynx on my last three visits, and they also had no signage.

Speaking of signage, I noticed the Great White Pelican sign is still at African Penguin Point.

Does anybody know if Zoey the Masai Giraffe is staying with the herd or if she will be leaving for a breeding recommendation yet? As I had heard she had a match but wasn’t sure if the zoo was going to ship her out?
